Abdollah J. Jassbi (born 1944 Tehran) is an Iranian academic, pragmatic politician and president of Azad University, a mega university with 1.3 million enrollments.
Along with Iranian leader Ali Khamenei and Iranian president Hashemi Rafsanjani, Jasbi was a co-founder of Azad University network which is among the biggest NGOs in Iran. Jasbi was also a candidate in Iran's presidential election, but lost the election to President Khatami.
He has B.Sc. degree in Industrial Engineering (Tehran college of Science & Technology), an MSc in Industrial Management and a PhD in Management of Production & Technology, both from Aston University, UK.[1] His PhD thesis (1979) was entitled "Productivity analysis and measurement".[2]
On 29 November 2011, he announced his retirement from Azad University. The next President of the Azad University will be selected in December.[3]
